Strathgryffe Tennis & Squash Club Sponsorship

Supporting Grassroots Tennis

We are delighted to announce our sponsorship with Strathgryffe Tennis and Squash Club in Houston. Brite Dental will provide financial support for the young stars of the future and offer access to a digitally advanced dental practice. 

The club has steadily increased in membership and presently stands at 1,000 members split between tennis, fitness and squash with the bulk as tennis members.  Members of the club are very active in the West of Scotland Leagues with 53 teams entered into the summer leagues across open, senior and junior events.

Strathgryffe are extremely fortunate to have Derek Brown as their Head Coach, he is one of Scotland's few LTA Master Performance Coaches and was the first to gain this qualification in 2010. He was a former Tennis Scotland Coach of the Year and is supported by two Level 4 coaches and two Level 3 coaches.

The club are not without their triumphs with one player achieving a GB cap, Cameron Kerr, who played for the GB U12 team in the European Winter Cup and also in the Queenswood International. There have been around 10 players with Scottish caps and many more with West of Scotland caps.

Strathgryffe Tennis Club can count many famous faces amongst those who have played there, including 5 British number 1s and 2 world number 1s, brothers Jamie and Andy Murray.

The tennis club will use the funds from the sponsorship to create better opportunities for their talented junior members. Brite Dental’s sponsorship will also assist with the provision of maintenance funds, new booking equipment and new sportswear.

After talking with Head Coach Derek Brown, Clinical Director of Brite Dental Bridge of Weir and Houston Joss Reid comments,

“Brite Dental is proud to be partnering together to promote the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle for all. After talking with the club administrators, we understand that across the country there is an issue around youth development in the sport. It seems that a lack of investment in local clubs is a primary factor. We hope this partnership can address this issue for the surrounding area.”

Head Coach, Derek Brown stated, "The funding from Brite Dental is most welcome and will help to alleviate costs of training of elite juniors. The funding will also provide some additional support for elite juniors in competition."
