What happens during your dental hygiene treatment?
At your dental hygiene appointment, our hygiene therapists will:

Carry out a scale and polish to remove any plaque and tartar build up

Carry out an in depth and targeted clean and pay further attention to areas that may require it

Show you how to care for your teeth and gums at home and help you adopt the correct techniques to maintain your oral hygiene

Remove any stains to bring your teeth back to their natural shade. These stains may have occurred from your diet and could be from consuming tea, coffee, red wine or nicotine.
How can I maintain good oral hygiene?
Our hygiene dental therapists will demonstrate how to take care of your mouth using a toothbrush, fluoride toothpaste, floss and inter- dental brushes, giving you all the knowledge and tool to look after your teeth and gums between visits. Along with brushing your teeth properly, reducing your consumption of sugary foods and drinks this will have a big impact on your oral health.
